Chem’s Back Trauma transposes my universe into the institutionalized space of the hospital, reflecting on how medical frameworks regulate and support bodies in states of fragility. Inspired by Michel Foucault’s Les Anormaux, the video unfolds through slides, juxtaposing fragmented bodies with moments of care and comfort. Echoing the simultaneously communal and isolating nature of queer «Chem’s parties,» the work confronts the rigidity of medical normativity with fleeting yet vital utopias of sexual freedom. The Orgiax appear here as witnesses to this duality, embodying a reality where vulnerability becomes a source of resilience, affection, and solidarity within the body’s liminal spaces.
